How to make Almond Jelly Mold
1
Bloom the gelatin
Sprinkle gelatin over the cold water and let it stand for 5 minutes.
2
Warm the milk
Heat the milk and sugar over medium-low heat until steaming and the sugar dissolves. Do not boil.
3
Flavor the jelly
Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved. Add almond extract.
4
Set the mold
Pour into a lightly oiled ring mold, cool, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
5
Unmold and decorate
Dip the mold briefly in warm water, invert, and fill the center with mandarin oranges and optional cherries.
Maria’s tip: Add almond extract off the heat so its delicate aroma stays fresh.
Food safety: Check the almond extract label for allergen information and keep the finished dessert refrigerated.
